Donna M. Turley is a founding member of the firm. Her practice includes small business organizations, non-profit corporations, condominiums, residential and commercial real estate matters, estate planning, probate, and serving the needs of non-traditional families, including the GLBT community. Recognized by her peers as an outstanding lawyer, Ms. Turley brings more than twenty-five years of experience as an attorney to the practice. Attorney Turley frequently lectures on estate planning and animal law for Continuing Legal Education programs, financial institutions, and non-profit organizations.

Ms. Turley's legal career has given her a wide range of expertise in her practice areas. She started her career in legal services for the poor, and left to work on housing issues for the City of Cambridge. She then became general counsel for an affordable housing non-profit, ran the public interest legal department of the Massachusetts Bar Association and became executive director of its legal foundation. She has been in private practice since 1994. She drafted the Pet Trust legislation signed into law in Massachusetts in 2011. Following that victory, she was appointed by Governor Deval Patrick to sit on the Board of Registration in Veterinary Medicine.

She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 1979, Northeastern University School of Law in 1985, and Boston University School of Law in 1992 with an advanced law degree in taxation.

Outside of the office, Ms. Turley has served on the boards of animal welfare non- profits and civil rights organizations, including GLAD. Currently, she is an active board member and foster care provider for of All Dog Rescue, Inc. Ms. Turley is licensed by the United States Coast Guard as a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer with an auxiliary sail designation. She completed four long distance offshore sailing trips and now enjoys day sailing and racing on Cape Cod Bay. She lives in Cambridge and Truro with her partner, and their constantly evolving cadre of dogs.
